J'ai attendu quelques jours le temps que le vernis soit sec à coeur. Ensuite me référant aux photos que j'ai de la voiture réelle, j'ai remarqué que les bandes vertes en bas du capot avant étaient constellées d'impacts blancs, et ce dès le pesage.
Pour le représenter, j'ai d'abord masqué le haut du capot puis j'ai chargé de peinture la buse de mon aérographe que j'ai ensuite projeté par saccades sur les bandes vertes. J'aurais peut être dû insister un peu pour avoir un effet plus marqué.
Les Jaguar ont pris le départ avec des caches blancs sur les phares, donc après avoir découpés et ajustés les vitres des phares je les ai fixés sur de la "Patafix" et les ai peint en blanc brillant Tamiya. Une fois secs, je les ai simplement mis en place et collés avec de la colle blanche dilluée.
J'ai peint les deux gros boutons à la base du pare brise. Ensuite j'ai découpé le pare brise qui initialement devait se fixer par l'intérieur mais je n'arrivait pas à un résultat correct, alors je l'ai ajusté pour qu'il se place exactement dans son
logement et je l'ai collé avec de la colle blanche diluée. J'ai ensuite posé le décalque du bandeau de pare brise.
Il me reste une interrogation sur cette face avant : en 1984, le fond des écopes de freins était blanc, mais je ne trouve pas de photos de 1985 pour savoir si c'était encore le cas, ou si ils étaient noirs.
I allowed the varnish a couple of days to dry. Then, looking at the pictures of the real car, I've noticed the green stripes in front of the car were constellated of impacts. Too show this, I've masked the top of the front hood, loaded the nozzle of my airbrush of white paint and spayed it. Result
is nice, I guess it could have been heavier anyway.
The two XJR5 started the race with white cover on their headlights. This after having cut them at the proper dimensions, I've placed the headlights glasses on some "patafix" and sprayed them with Tamiya white. Once the paint dry, I've placed the headlights in place, using thinned white glue.
I've painted the two big buttons at the bottom of the windscreen and followed by cutting and adjusting the windshield. This part is designed to be placed from the interior of the car but I was not able to have a correct positionning thus, I've adapted it to be able to place it from the outside, securing its positionning with thinned white glue.
Once that dry, I've set the windshield band.
I still have a question on the front of the car. In 1984 the brake duct were white, I cannot find any pictures of the 1985 cars showing this area. Were they still white ? Black ?
