A l'issue des qualifications, S. Bourdais nous avait prévenu : Ferrari avait caché son jeu. De fait, vu leur domination en début de saison, les 7, 11 et 13^eme places sur la grille avaient de quoi interpeler.
Une fois la course lancée les F499P remontaient méthodiquement et la n°50 se retrouvait en tête dès la troisième heure, et une heure plus tard, les trois Italiennes monopolisaient le podium. Bien que ce trio soit parfois perturbé par la Porsche n°6 et plus rarement la Toyota n°8 ou la Cadillac n°12, on sentait bien que les Protos engagés par AF Corse controllaient la course et que la "privée" jaune n°83 prenait une option sur la victoire malgré des petits soucis de boite. A partir de 9H du matin seule la Porsche n°6 pouvait encore caresser le mince espoir de briser l'hégémonie de Maranello. En début d'après midi, des cafouillages de stratégie et des erreurs sur la 50 et un souci moteur sur la 51 ont permis à la Porsche n°6 de s'emparer de la seconde place.
A l'arrivé Ferrari termine 1, 3 et 4. Troisième victoire d'afilée et tir groupé impressonnant, entaché cependant par la disqualification après course de la n°50 (quatrième) pour cause de fixation d'aileron non conforme.

Seb Bourdais (Cadillac) told us at the end of the qualifications : Ferrari did not show its true potential. I fact, considering their domination since the beginning of the season, the 7, 11 and 13^th positions on the grid of the three F499P were quite surprising.
Once in the race, the three Ferrari steadily came back in the front of the pack and the n°50 was leading the race in the third hour. One hour later the three Italian cars were on the podium. Even if this parade was sometimes disrupted by the n°6 Porsche or less often the Toyota n°8 or the Cadillac n°12, every one gets conviced the F499P were controlling the race and the "private" n°83 was taking an option over the victory (despite downshift issues). From 9 in the morning, only the n°6 Porsche was still able to disturb the AF Corse parade. Sunday early afternoon, some mistakes and strategy errors for the n°50 and engine issues for the n°51 allowed the n°6 Porsche to take the second place.
Under the chequered flag, Ferrari is 1, 3 and 4^th. This is a awesome third victory in a row, shaded by the disqualification of the n°50 (rear wing fixation not according to the regulations) anyway.
