Parmi toutes les catégories cette année, le GTE-Pro était l'une des plus remuantes. En effet l'unité de temps étant le dixième de seconde dans cette catégorie, malheur à celui qui perd 10 secondes. Et c'est en ayant une course parfaite que Bruni / Lietz et Makowiecki ont réussi a s'emparer du dernier trophé en GTE-Pro (la catégorie disparaissant à la fin de la saison).
Partie de la 3^eme place du GTE-Pro, la n°91 parfairement conduite est resté à l'écart de la bataille que se sont livré les Corvettes, la Porsche n°92 et la Ferrari n°51 tout en restant dans leurs basques. Avec les ennuis successifs des leaders, il ne restait plus en milieu de matinée que la Ferrari pour contester la victoire à la n°91. Mais affectée par une crevaison lente, l'Italienne du céder, laissant la victoire à la Porsche n°91 dont le seul imprévu fut un Drive Through à 21H50 pour non respect des limites de la pistes. Avec passées dans son stand, la n°91 est l'une de celle qui est restée le plus longtemps sur la piste. Le dicton qui dit que la course se gagne sur la piste et se perd dans les stands trouve là une parfaite illustration.

Within all the categories this year, the GTE-Pro was one of the most uncertain. In fact, the unit of time in this class was the tenth of a second. Thus, woe to the who lose 10 seconds in the race. By the way, it's thanks to a perfect and regular race that Bruni / Lietz and Makowiecki succeed to win the last trophy in GTE-Pro (the category will be banned at the end of this season).
Starting 3^rd on the GTE-Pro gridn the Porsche n°91 stood a bit away from the frantic battle between the Corvettes, the Porsche n°91 and the Ferrari n°51 fot the lead of the class stayin any way in their exhausts. With the successive fails of the leaders, the n°91 had only the Farrari for challenger in the middle of the morning. When the n°51 was affected by a slow puncture, the way to victory was then full opened for the Porsche n°91 wich the only issur was a drive through at 21H30 for driving out of the track. With only 32 minutes and 44 seconds in the pits, the winning Porsche was one of the cars which stayed the longer time on the track. The adage saying a race is won on the track and lost in the pits is finding here a perfect example.
