Désireux de faire au moins aussi bien qu'en 2020, l'équipage féminin du LMP2 a fignolé ses réglages pendant les essais sans chercher à faire un temps. Résultat : Calderon, Flösch et Visser sont 27^eme sur la grille. Pas d'inquiétude pour l'équipage qui attaquera la course sur un rythme très régulier et sans aucun contretemps. Rapidement les filles vont donc progresser au point de se retrouver 16^eme au général dès 21 Heures, avec beaucoup d'espoirs pour la suite. Mais la course sait être cruelle. A 21h08 aux abords des virages Porsche l'Oreca-07 n°1 est percutée par l'Aurus n°26 et part heurter les glissières. Sophia FlÖrsch au volant réussit à faire marche arrière mais reste immobilisée au millieu de la piste, ne parvenant pas à repartir. A 21h10 Flörsh voit avec frayeur débouler la ligier n°74 qui la percute a pleine vitesse sur son flanc droit. Le choc est violent et si la pilote est indemme, l'Oreca n'est plus en état de continuer la course.

The only women driver team of the LMP2 was willing to have at least the same result as 2020. Thus they've improoved the settings of the Oreca n°1 without any research of flying lap. As a result Calderon, Flösch and Visser were only 27^th on the grid. No worries anyway. With a very ragular pace without any loss of time, the women drivers were steadily moving up in the classification and were securing the 16^th position at 9 a.m with many hopes. Unfortunately the race can be sometimes cruel. At 21h08 the oreca-07 n°1 is hit just before the Porsche curve by the Aurus n°26 and crashed into the safety fences. Sophia Flörsch behind the wheel of the n°1 was able to step back but was then immobilized in the middle of the track, unable to restart. At 21H10 Flörsch sees with horror the Ligier n°74 comming to her at full speed, and hitting the left right of the Oreca 07. The crash is quite huge and if the driver is safe, it's enough for the Oreca, badly damaged in this second crash.
