Le virage maudit

The cursed corner

Corvette C7R

Porsche. Maudit virage !

In the frantic battle between Porsche-Aston-Ferrari-Corvette-BMW and Ford in GTE-Pro category, we all knew the American cars would have their chances.
During practices, the n°64 was quite discreet (11th 1.5 seconds behind the category pole) but the n°64 made a good flying lap, third on the grid only half a second behind the pole. From the beginning of the race, this n°64 took the lead for 4 hours and was then always fighting in the top of the pack, taking the lead again quite often.
The Porsche corner was the place of the first issues. Marcel Fassler, driving the n°64 Corvette was hit by Satoshi Hoshino (Porsche n°88) while overtaking him and the car crashed into the wall. This was the end for the Corvette. Fortunately, no problems for Magnussen, Garcia and Rockenfeller always in a good mood until Magnussen made a fault in a corner while leading again the pack. He had to go back to the pits to make its suspension repaired, but the gap with the new leaders was then too big and the only target for the n°63 was to finish the race.
Oh, do you know where Magnussen did damage its Corvette ? At the cursed... Porsche corner.
