Signatech Alpine au sommet

Signatech Alpine at the top

Alpine A460

Considering their results of the past years, it was obvious that the Alpines (in fact, Oreca 05 chassis powered by Nissan engines) entered by Signatech would be serious challengers for the victory in LM P2.
In fact they made a very good impression during the whole week with the n°36 driven by Nicolas Lapierre, Gustavo Menezes and Stéphane Richelmi considered as the leading car of the team.
Well positionned in the grid just behind the G-Drive Oreca, they fought during 12 hours against the Oreca 05 of G-Drive, KCMG, Thiriet and Manor before taking the lead for good at the half mark of the race. Despite small water leakage, they succeeded to maintain their pursuer at distance and won the LM P2, at the 5th rank overall with a margin of 2'40" on the G-drive car.
By the way, they collected the 50 points of the victory which would be very important at the end of the season...
