Bien que ne disposant pas du matériel tout dernier cri, les sociétaires du team Signatech Alpine
avaient de solides arguments à faire valoir. Bien qualifiés au 5eme rang de la catégorie en 3'39"699,
Chatin, Panciatici et Capillaire prendront d'abord un départ prudent. Ils feront par la suite preuve d'un excellent rythme qui
leur permettra de toujours être biens placés, derrière les Oreca mais devant les Ligier du team Oak.
Malheureusement, alors troisième du LM P2, Paul loup Chatin perd le contrôle de l'Alpine à 22h38 à Mulsanne.
Le choc contre les rails de sécurité est violent et la voiture ne peut rejoindre son stand.
Le rêve du team Signatech Alpine vient de se briser

Well qualified fifth of the LM P2 in 3'39"699, Chatin, Panciatici and Capillaire had a conservative pace in the first hours, but then showed
a very good pace which allowed them to be always in good position, behind the Orecas but ahead of the Ligiers from Oak Racing.
Alas, while he was third in LM P2 category, Paul Loup Chatin loose its Alpine at 22h38 at Mulsanne. The impact against the Armco barrier was brutal
and the car was not able to go back to the pits.
The dream of Signatech Alpine just broke.
