La semaine avait pourtant assez mal commencée pour le Corvette Racing. La n°64 se qualifiant à 4 secondes
de la meilleure Aston Martin et la n°63, plus rapide, devant déclarer forfait suite à un gros crash lors des essais du jeudi.
Vu le niveau de la conccurence, la tâche s'annoncait rude.
Laissant les Aston faire le spectacle en début de course, la C7R n°64 remontait ensuite progressivement dans le classement.
Bénéficiant des abandons des voitures Britanniques, la Corvette pilotée par Gavin, Milner et Taylor se retrouvait à la lutte
pour la première place du GTE Pro avec la Ferrari AF Corse n°71, se bagarrant à coups de secondes. Finalement, la boite de l'Italienne céda,
laissant la voie vers la victoire libre pour la Corvette..
The bginning of the week was not so good. The Corvette n°64 qualified nearly 4 seconds behind the fastest Aston Martin and the n°63, quickest Corvette,
had to announce his withdrawal after a severe chrash during the thursday practices. Considering the level of the opponents, the task seemed to be very hard for the lonely C7R in GTE-Pro.
Leaving the Astons making the show of the firsts hours, the car driven by Gavin, Milner and Taylor was then comming back to the top of the field step by step.
Taking advantage of the failures of the Astons, the Corvette n°64 was able to fight for the GTE-Pro lead with the n°71 Ferrari. The battle was hard but when
the gearbox of the Italian car fails, the path to victory was finaly open to the Corvette
