Même si le dicton est connu, on sait qu'au Mans tout peut arriver...
Mais pour Potoliccio-Daziel-Kimber Smith, cela s'est bel et bien confirmé. Ok, ils disposaient d'une HPD, ce qui est loin d'être un Handicap en LM P2
mais la concurrence était rude : Morgan, Oreca 03 et Lola B12/80 avaient leur mot à dire dans la bagarre pour la victoire de classe.
Calés dans le sillage de la Morgan de Nicolet, Lahaye et Pla, intouchables, les pilotes de la HPD n° 44 surent mener bon train. Et quand la Morgan connut ses
premiers problèmes, la HPD prit la tête autour de minuit, pour ne plus jamais la lâcher. Tous les autres prétendants auront beau essayer, ils ne rattraperont
jamais la voiture du Starworks Motorsport.
The proverb is well known (in France at least), but we all know that all can happen in Le Mans...
Fortunately for Potoliccio-Daziel-Kimber Smith, the story came true. Ok, they drive a HPD, far to be a handicap in LM P2. But the competition was hard, with Morgan, Oreca 03 and Lola B12/80
all eligibes to fight for LM P2 victory.
Following the Morgans from Oak racing, unreachable leaders of LM P2, drivers of the n°44 HPD ware able to run very fast, in ambush. And when the Oak were delayed, between midnight and 1 O'clock,
the HPD took the lead until the chequered flag. Despite their effeorts, the others opponents were unable to catch the car from the Starworks Motorsport.
