Après une édition 2010 ratée et un début de saison 2011 sous la domination de Pescarolo, le Rebellion Racing
prend sa revanche. Les deux voitures du team encadrent la Pescarolo sur la ligne de départ en se plaçant au 8 et 10eme rang.
Longtemps les trois voitures seront au coude à coude. Leur rythme est assez élevé pour profiter des ennuis de la Peugeot Oreca et lui passer devant.
Mais petit à petit la Pescarolo prend le large. Peu avant 5 heures du Matin, Boullion sort de la piste et doit abandonner sa Lola, mais l'autre équipage maintient le
forcing et profite de l'abandon de la Pescarolo et parvient à se classer au 6eme rang et premier des essences.
Belle prestation des Lola présageant peut être un changement d'hégémonie pour la deuxième partie de saison dans la sous catégorie des moteurs essences.
After a sad 2010 event and a difficult start for 2011 dominated by Pescarolo, the Rebellion Racing takes its revenge. The two cars flank the Pescarolo on the starting grid, taking the 8th and the 10th ranks.
For a long moment, the three cars are fighting together. Their pace is fast enought to take the opportunity to overtake the Peugeot Oreca after its problems. Despite their efforts, the Lola Toyotas let the Pescarolo taking the advantage, meter after meter.
The crash of Boullion at 5 A.M leading to the retirement of the Lola n°13 was a bad new but its sister car was fast enought to follow the Pescarolo. When Collard crashed its Pescarolo in the Porsche curves, Jani, Prost and Bleekemolen took the lead of the
petrol sub category and kept it until the chequered flag. They finaly finished sixth overall.
This good appearance of the Rebellion Racing at Le Mans may foreshadow a change in the leadership of the subcategory for the rest of the season.
